Knowing which PS5 Pro games are coming to the console is a crucial factor in deciding whether the $700 mid-generation refresh is worth purchasing over a base PS5 when it launches on November 7th.

Firstly, it should be noted that the PS5 Pro will not have any exclusive games or accessories. Additionally, everything released on the PS5 will work on a PS5 Pro. So, what exactly can one expect from a PS5 Pro?

Similar to the PS4 Pro before it, developers can release upgraded versions of their titles to take advantage of the more powerful hardware. And, if they don’t, all games (including PS4 titles) can utilize a “Game Boost” mode, even without a dedicated PS5 Pro version.

This guide explains all the confirmed PS5 Pro games so far, both from first-party and third-party developers, along with any specific upgrades that are known.

Unlike the PS4 Pro, which was tailored to meet the growing demand for 4K televisions at the time, the PS5 doesn’t have a specific selling point to rely on. (8K is still too far away for mass market appeal; perhaps it will be for the PS6 Pro?)

Instead, it is promoting three key features (or as Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PS5, calls them, the “big three”): a larger GPU (graphics processing unit), enhanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling, with the overall aim of combining the higher frame rates of a performance mode without sacrificing the visual quality offered by a fidelity mode.

Thanks to a detailed pre-release spec analysis by Digital Foundry, we have a good understanding of what this all means in practice. For example, don’t expect every game to automatically achieve 60 frames per second with the PS5 Pro’s specs, as the CPU / processing speed upgrade is relatively modest (compared to the 33% increase over the base PS4 on the PS4 Pro), suggesting that we can expect more stability rather than significantly higher frame rates.

However, the graphics boost appears significant on paper, increasing from 10.23 teraflops to 33.5 (though in reality, it could be closer to a 45% increase), while ray tracing will be twice to three times faster than on a standard PS5. Meanwhile, the dedicated upscaler (called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) that utilizes AI machine learning can help reach higher resolutions. Finally, although there is a 1.2GB memory increase, it seems that this will be consumed by the aforementioned ray tracing and upscaling technologies.

Ultimately, how developers will make use of these upgraded technologies will vary from game to game. So, with all this in mind, which games will support the PS5 Pro’s new specs, and what do we know about their upgrades before their release?
