Sega and Sonic Team held their annual Sonic Central broadcast on Tuesday, unveiling the latest updates on Sonic the Hedgehog video games, merchandise, and the live-action movie and animated projects. There were numerous collaborations and crossovers as well, including partnerships with Lego; the talented visual artist Louis De Guzman; and video games such as Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Roblox, and Two Point Museum.
However, the most captivating project on display was an upcoming crossover event with DC Comics that will feature Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends as iconic Justice League heroes in a comic book series set to launch in 2025. Details were rather scarce, but Sega’s Ivo Gerscovich revealed that, aside from Shadow the Hedgehog taking on the role of Batman in the comic series, we are in for the following exciting DC super hero/furry cartoon animal mashups:
- Sonic the Hedgehog as the Flash
- Knuckles the Echidna as Superman
- Amy Rose as Wonder Woman
- Tails as Cyborg
- Silver the Hedgehog as Green Lantern
Writer Ian Flynn, renowned for his work on Archie Comics and IDW Publishing’s Sonic the Hedgehog comics, is at the helm of this project. Flynn is collaborating with an unnamed artist on the project, which was teased last week on “Batman Day.”
The DC Comics Sonic crossover will span five issues debuting in March 2025, along with a collected edition of that series, Gerscovich said. He also announced that there is even more to come in the form of apparel, accessories, and toys, with DC and Sega’s partnership set to continue into 2026.

But if you’re solely interested in seeing Amy in a Wonder Woman costume and/or Miles “Tails” Prower as Cyborg (certainly not the first time we’ve witnessed the twin-tailed fox in a cybernetic form), take a look at the clip below.
