Why Star Wars Game Makes Me Hungry?

“Star Wars Outlaws” presents you with an abundance of captivating things to do, immersing you deep within that galaxy far, far away. There’s the thrilling excitement of Sabacc, the adrenaline-pumping rush of speeder racing, and the daring venture of smuggling illegal goods. In a massive open-world game like this, quests and loot are to be expected, but what I truly didn’t anticipate were the extravagant eating sequences. It turns out that the player character, Kay, is quite the passionate food enthusiast!

In four distinct worlds of “Star Wars Outlaws”, players can take a seat at a droid-operated food stand and savor a unique dish that showcases the local cuisine. There are alien popcorn cobs, ice-encased eels, and a curry that is spicier than an angry Gamorrean. Each meal commences with a boisterous droid chef vigorously chopping up ingredients and cooking them just like in “Monster Hunter: World”, before presenting your plate like a master of ceremonies.

What’s fascinating is that these aren’t mere cutscenes; you actually have to pick up your space spork and dig in! Throughout your meal, you’ll engage in simple quick-time events to take a bite of a delicious kebab or gulp down some water to soothe the heat from too much spice. You’ll do the same for your adorable companion Nix, who enjoys the meal right alongside you. It can be a truly heartwarming moment for both you and your little buddy, providing a nice respite from all the intense heisting. Additionally, you rarely get this level of in-depth exploration of food in the Star Wars universe, which is a huge treat for a certain type of nerd like me, especially when each meal seems to hold its own surprises.

Of course, in a video game, one might wonder if there’s a gameplay purpose to seeking out these food carts, and the answer is a resounding yes. Each meal bestows a bonus on Nix, and some of these bonuses can be a tremendous asset during your missions: One allows Nix to effectively distract multiple enemies at the same time, while another can cause enemies to start wildly shooting their blasters (you can switch between these later).

So the next time you’re strolling through Mos Eisley or Kijimi City, take a break and eat like the locals do!
