Samsung has released a Newsroom post, announcing its latest Galaxy Book model, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360. This is touted as the very first of its new “powerhouse AI PCs.” It is a Copilot+ laptop that is powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor (also known as Lunar Lake). This processor can deliver an astonishing 47 tera operations per second (TOPS) of neural processing unit (NPU) power. And when Copilot isn’t quite enough, you can seamlessly link your Galaxy phone and explore the wonders of Galaxy AI as well.

The PC also comes equipped with an Intel Arc GPU, which enhances graphics performance by up to 17%. According to the press release, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 will have access to an extensive array of more than 300 AI-accelerated features across 100 different apps. However, it seems that Copilot+ PC experiences won’t be available right at the launch. Instead, Samsung anticipates that these will be made available through future updates, and Microsoft has confirmed that these updates will come this November at IFA.

When you connect a compatible Galaxy phone through Microsoft Phone Link, you can utilize a plethora of Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Chat Assist, Live Translate, and Transcript Assist. One of the key selling points of this laptop is the seamless combination of “performance meets ecosystem connectivity,” much like other Galaxy Book models. So, it implies that if you own a few other Samsung devices, you can potentially unlock even more capabilities from the PC. There is no word yet on whether Samsung plans to bring these AI features natively to its PCs, though.

As for the hardware, it features a massive 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with Vision Booster. This display aims to enhance outdoor visibility and minimize glare. The resolution stands at 2880 x 1800, which is a great sight to behold, as Samsung refrains from attempting to cram a larger screen with just 1080p, like it did with the original 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro 360. Additionally, the display is touch-enabled, allowing you to make full use of the 360 hinges and the included S Pen to operate the PC like a tablet. However, when you fully fold the screen back, it means that your keyboard and touchpad will come into direct contact with whatever surface you place it on.

One of the major attractions of the Snapdragon Copilot+ PCs is the exceptional battery life. And Samsung promises “all-day battery life” and up to 25 hours of video playback for its Intel Copilot+ PC. Whether it can truly live up to these claims once reviewers get their hands on it remains to be seen, and we will keep you updated on that. This 2-in-1 laptop will be available with options of 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage, and it will be hitting the stores this month.
